In a strategic move to enhance its commitment to empowering women in commerce and industry, the Women Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (WCCIMA) announces the appointment of Weyinmi Eribo as its new Director-General.

In December 2005, the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) established the NACCIMA Business Women Group (NAWORG) as one of its trade groups. The organization was a pivotal initiative dedicated to coordinating the activities of women within the Chamber Movement. Building on this rich history, NAWORG has evolved into the Women Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (WCCIMA), signaling a strategic shift towards a more comprehensive and specialized approach to empowering women in commerce and industry.

The Women Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (WCCIMA) is a dynamic institution dedicated to advancing the development and achievement of Nigerian women in commerce and industry. WCCIMA is committed to empowering and advancing women in commerce and industry through strategic initiatives, advocacy, and collaboration. We envision a future where women entrepreneurs and professionals not only succeed but also contribute significantly to economic growth and development, breaking barriers along the way.

Commenting on this appointment, Mr. Dele Oye, the National President of NACCIMA, said “Weyinmi Eribo’s appointment is a testament to the strength and vision of the Women Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture. We believe her leadership will propel WCCIMA to achieve new heights, fostering an environment where women’s contributions to commerce and industry are not only recognized but celebrated.”

Hajiya Aisha Abubakar, the Chairperson of the Women Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture/NAWORG, shared her enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, “Weyinmi Eribo’s leadership comes at a crucial time for WCCIMA. We believe her vision and strategic approach will further strengthen our mission to empower women and drive positive change in commerce and industry.”

The Women Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Industry emerges as a catalyst for women’s empowerment, rooted in a rich history, driven by a powerful mission, and strengthened by strategic partnerships. WCCIMA is positioned to shape a future where women not only succeed but also play an integral role in shaping the narrative of commerce and industry, both on the national and international stages.
