OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 14TH GATEWAY INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR

An initiative of the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), the opening ceremony of the 14th Gateway International Trade Fair was held on Tuesday, 11th February 2025 at the MKO Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Themed “Promoting Business through Partnership,” the event brought together a diverse group of exhibitors, business leaders, and stakeholders. Among the dignitaries present was the National President of NACCIMA, Hon. Dele Kelvin Oye, Esq., who, in his address, urged the Ogun State Government to provide a well-structured and covered trade fair pavilion to enhance the business environment during future trade fairs.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Executive Governor of Ogun State ably represented by Mr. Bolu Owotomo, Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security; Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Jani, 1st Deputy President NACCIMA; Dr. Aikulola Olu-Ola, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment; Alh. Wasiu B. Olaleye, President ODUACCIMA; Lion Rafiu Olugbeminiyi Oshiyemi, President, OGUNCCIMA; Elder Oladimeji Adeniyi; Mr. Wakeel Olaniyan, Secretary General, OGUNCCIMA; Dr. Mathias Leder, CEO IHK Giessen Fredberg, Germany; Markus Wauschkuhn, SEDIN; Ambassador Christophe Bazivamo, Rwanda High Commission; Adeniyi Odukoya, Representing President of AFREXIM Bank; Prof. Kayode Oyedele, SA to the Governor on Mineral Resources; Oba Mike Olusegun Adeshino; Segun Dada, GIZ & Sola Obadimu, DG, NACCIMA, etc.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Mr. Bolu Owotomo emphasized the importance of collaboration in expanding business reach and driving sustainable economic growth. He noted that this year’s theme highlights the critical role of partnerships in optimizing resources, creativity, and talent.

The Honourable Commissioner also informed participants of the Ogun State Government’s commitment to capacity-building initiatives, which have significantly enhanced food security and created employment opportunities for youths. He reassured stakeholders that the state government remains committed to formulating policies that foster economic growth and development.

In conclusion, he commended the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, led by Mr. Emmanuel Adebola Sofela, for its role in advancing and ensuring the success of this years trade fair.
