The Director General, Sola Obadimu welcomed the six-man delegation from the Nigeria-Indonesia Chamber of Commerce (NICCI) and introduced the NACCIMA team. He recognised NICC as a vibrant and leading bilateral Chamber that deserves the support of NACCIMA. He used the opportunity to remind them of the NACCIMA upcoming AGM in Ilorin in June.
Mr. Ismael Balogun, President of the Nigeria-Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) and leader of his delegation appreciated the congent advocacy efforts NACCIMA had been making, not just on behalf of the Chamber movement but on behalf of the private sector as a whole. He thereafter expressed his desire for NACCIMA to collaborate with the Chamber on its upcoming forum scheduled for 21st–23rd October 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia. He gave a brief overview of his Chamber’s activities and highlighted some of the successes recorded in previous editions of the forum. He emphasized the Chamber’s desire to have a stronger Nigerian delegation at this year’s event and highlighted the importance of NACCIMA’s partnership, given its role as the apex body of Chambers of Commerce and current Secretariat of the Nigerian organized private sector. He further noted their interest in securing participation and sponsorship from NACCIMA members.
Contributing to the discussion, Capt. Giorgio E., a member of NICCI and freight forwarding expert, expressed interest in expanding his company’s business into the agricultural sector as part of efforts to strengthen trade and investment ties between Nigeria and Indonesia.
Mr. Joshua Daranijo, another NICCI member and legal practitioner, stated that he is involved in planning the forum and is offering legal and organizational support.
On the matter of sponsorship, the Director General requested that a formal letter be submitted specifically for this purpose which may be used for onward publication. He also recommended that a flyer or promotional material be developed to enhance the visibility of the event. He assured the delegation of NACCIMA’s support in mobilizing its members to participate actively in the forum.
