Following the successful participation of the Nigerian delegation at the recently concluded Third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Conference held in Tehran from April 27 to 29, 2025, the leadership of the NACCIMA Trade Mission Trade Group paid a courtesy visit to the Iranian Embassy in Abuja and was received by His Excellency Seyed Azizollah Miryousefi, Chargé d’Affaires and Acting Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The visit, which took place shortly after the delegation’s return, was led by Alhaji Farouk Suleiman Farsman, Chairman of the NACCIMA Trade Mission Committee. He was accompanied by the Head of Delegation to the Iran-Africa Summit, Alhaji Abdullahi Suleiman, MNI. The purpose of the visit was to extend appreciation to the Iranian government and the embassy in Nigeria for their immense support, hospitality, logistical assistance, and for facilitating meaningful business and diplomatic engagements throughout the summit.
During the visit, both parties reflected on the outcomes of the summit, which provided a robust platform for fostering bilateral trade, investment partnerships, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Iran. A key highlight of the discussions was the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between NACCIMA and the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, which is expected to unlock new avenues for private sector collaboration and joint ventures.
The delegation and embassy officials also discussed the revitalization of the Nigerian-Iranian Joint Business Council, with a shared commitment to refresh and reset the platform to better align with current business realities and promote more effective trade and investment facilitation between the two nations.
Further discussions explored opportunities for deeper collaboration in areas such as agro-processing, industrial manufacturing, and technology transfer. The NACCIMA delegation emphasized the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation, particularly in facilitating ease of trade and mutual investment among African and Iranian stakeholders.
NACCIMA remains Nigeria’s foremost private sector voice and a strategic bridge between Nigerian businesses and global opportunities. The association remains committed to promoting trade diplomacy, enhancing non-oil exports, and supporting sustainable economic development through international engagement.
