The Director-General, Sola Obadimu, visited the National AfCFTA Coordinating Office in Abuja today for a follow-up meeting on an earlier sensitization collaboration project proposal initiated by NACCIMA. He was accompanied on the visit by Dr. Sulaiman Audu, Chairman of NACCIMA AfCFTA Committee and his deputy, Rebecca Ebokpo and some support personel. The NACCIMA team was received by the NAC team headed by the Acting National Coordinator, Ms. Patience Okala; Ogo Chukwurah, Team Lead, Export Market Development; Zakari Jimeta, Communications Coordinator and other management-cadre officers of the Agency.
At the end of the fruitful meeting, it was agreed that:
1. NAC will work with NACCIMA to implement the Sensitisation Project as earlier initiated in the first half of 2025 on which NACCIMA has been effectively mobilised.
2. NAC will deliberate on the initial choices of venue and likely advise an amendment of venues to ensure that the message gets to other parts of the country aside from the initial choices of Lagos & Abuja.
At the end of the meeting, the Ag. National Coordinator thanked the NACCIMA team for honouring the invitation and appreciated the DG particularly for the project initiative and his forthrightness. She expressed her delight at the core essence of the Project as she believed that, despite prior efforts in sensitising the business community, there was apparently a need for a higher level of impact and she agreed that NACCIMA would be a right channel to assist in achieving desired objectives.
The meeting ended with exchange of pleasantries and photographs.
