The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has received a delegation from the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Sixth African Sub-Sovereign Government Network (AfSNET) Investment Conference 2026 at its Corporate Office in Abuja.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the LOC, Prof. Eyo Etim Nyong, paid a courtesy visit to the National President of NACCIMA, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, OON, mni, as part of efforts to build strategic partnerships and mobilise private-sector participation ahead of the continental conference.
The engagement focused on opportunities for NACCIMA to support and collaborate with the organisers in promoting the conference among Nigeria’s business community and strengthening private-sector participation in discussions around trade, investment and sub-national development.
The 6th AfSNET Investment Conference is scheduled to take place from 12–14 November 2026 at the Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC), Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.
The conference is being organised by Afreximbank, in collaboration with the Government of Cross River State and the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).
This year’s conference is themed:
The theme reflects the increasing importance of state, regional and other sub-sovereign governments in attracting investment, facilitating trade, developing infrastructure and creating enabling environments for businesses and economic growth.
The AfSNET platform provides an opportunity for sub-sovereign governments, investors, development institutions and private-sector organisations from across Africa to engage on practical approaches to accelerating development through trade and investment.
For the business community, stronger engagement with sub-national governments can help open new opportunities in areas such as infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, tourism, energy, technology and other productive sectors.
The conference is also expected to facilitate discussions around investment-ready projects, regional economic opportunities, public-private partnerships and mechanisms for improving the attractiveness of sub-sovereign jurisdictions to local and international investors.
During the engagement, both parties agreed to collaborate towards the successful hosting of the conference.
NACCIMA committed to mobilising its members and broader business network to participate in the conference and to support awareness of the opportunities available through the AfSNET platform.
The Association also agreed to designate a focal person to work closely with the Local Organising Committee, helping to facilitate coordination and engagement between NACCIMA and the conference organisers.
This collaboration is expected to strengthen private-sector representation at the conference and ensure that the perspectives, interests and investment priorities of businesses are incorporated into wider discussions on sub-sovereign development.
The engagement aligns with NACCIMA’s broader mandate to promote trade, investment, enterprise development and stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors.
NACCIMA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that create practical platforms for businesses to engage with government, investors and development institutions, while expanding opportunities for investment and economic development across Nigeria and the wider African continent.
