A Strategic Beginning: Inauguration of NACCIMA Committees and Trade Groups

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) marked a strategic milestone on the 22nd of July, 2025, with the inauguration of its Standing Committees and Trade Groups—key structures to deepen sectoral engagement, enhance policy advocacy, and strengthen the voice of the organized private sector.

Presided over by the National President, Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, FAEng, FNSE, FIoD, OON, mni, the event officially activated these platforms as engines of collaboration, innovation, and economic transformation.

Event Highlights
The event featured a welcome by the DG of NACCIMA, Engr. Olusola Obadimu, an address by the National President, formal inauguration, response by appointees, a vote of thanks by the 1st Deputy President, and closing remarks.

President’s Charge
The President underscored that this inauguration was strategic, not ceremonial. He outlined expectations for the Committees and Trade Groups as NACCIMA’s operational backbone—driving policy, innovation, and results.
He issued the following directives:

* Hold monthly virtual meetings with actionable outcomes
* Foster inclusive leadership and engagement
* Champion data-driven advocacy
* Develop revenue-generating programs
* Align all activities with national development goals

Technical Support
To ensure coordination and institutional memory, a Technical Committee led by Amb. Suleman Adebayo Audu was introduced to track progress and promote synergy without interfering with the autonomy of the various groups.

Expected Outcomes
The Committees and Trade Groups are to:

* Drive practical policy reforms
* Facilitate B2B and B2G engagements
* Lead trade expos and sectoral interventions
* Support Nigeria’s $1 trillion economy target by 2030
* Grow chamber membership—targeting 100 new members per chamber by the end of 2025

The President urged appointees to serve with vision, dedication, and integrity—reaffirming that NACCIMA’s strength lies in collective action and institutional excellence.

The 2nd Deputy President, Asiwaju Michael Olawale-Cole, also charged all members to prioritize meaningful public-private partnerships as a cornerstone for national development. Finally, the 1st Deputy President, Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji gave the closing remarks, and the meeting came to an end.
