Following the Royal visit, the NACCIMA Council delegation visited the Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta and had an insightful session with H. E. Olusegun Obasanjo, a Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
During the visit, President Obasanjo commended NACCIMA for its strong advocacy and unwavering commitment to speaking truth to power. He emphasized the crucial role of the private sector in driving economic growth and urged the government to listen more to NACCIMA and business leaders.
Sharing a powerful example, he recounted how his collaboration with Dangote Industries helped Nigeria achieve self-sufficiency in cement production, transforming the country into a net exporter. His conclusion was clear:
“Nigeria cannot survive without NACCIMA.”
This visit reaffirmed the importance of public-private sector synergy in shaping policies that foster economic sustainability and national development.
