NACCIMA Hosts Egyptian Ambassador to Deepen Nigeria-Egypt Economic Cooperation

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) on Monday, 27th October 2025, hosted His Excellency, Mohammed Fouad, the Egyptian Ambassador to Nigeria, and Mr. Hussein Shoukry, Deputy Head of Mission, at its Corporate Office in Abuja. The meeting, led by NACCIMA National President and Chairman of the Organized Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN), Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, OON, mni, focused on deepening trade and investment relations between both countries.

Ambassador Fouad highlighted Egypt’s keen interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing barriers affecting Egyptian investors, particularly issues related to importation procedures and regulatory compliance with NAFDAC. He called for streamlined processes to foster confidence and expand trade volume between Nigeria and Egypt.

In his remarks, Engr. (Dr.) Ibrahim welcomed the Ambassador and emphasized NACCIMA’s readiness to enhance collaboration across key sectors such as Mining, Energy, Oil and Gas, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Technology, and the Digital Economy. He noted the strategic importance of Nigeria and Egypt’s partnership within multilateral frameworks such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation.

The NACCIMA President also underscored the role of youth in the future of bilateral relations, encouraging targeted partnerships between the NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs (NYE) and Egyptian innovators in creative and digital sectors.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen cooperation through the Nigeria–Egypt Joint Business Council, resolve regulatory challenges through advocacy, and explore joint opportunities under the AfCFTA framework.
