The NACCIMA/Nigerian team played host to scores of Chinese Businesspeople at the Ramada Hotel in Linyi in a China/Nigeria Economic & Trade Cooperation Initiative themed: Going Global Matchmaking Event.
As usual, there were presentations on both NACCIMA and the Nigerian Economy and Inherent Opportunities Therein delivered by the Director-General, Sola Obadimu. Equally delivering presentations were Amb. Janet Olisa, Special Adviser on International Relations on the NACCIMA Global Initiative and the opportunities it presents to facilitate growing Chinese/Nigerian trade relations. Mrs. Doris Okonkwo, Comptroller (Trade Facilitation) at the Nigerian Customs Service spoke on tariffs and available waivers/incentives while Michael Olusegun, CEO of Silagreen Agro Investments also spoke.
The Management of Linyi Commodity City Councilled by Mr. Qu Zongkuan attended the meeting with businesspeople from Linyi who indicated interest in either developing or furthering business relations with Nigeria. They indicated their plans to undertake an exploratory visit to Nigeria in June. Details would be worked out in the coming weeks.
