NACCIMA hosts 2-day Stakeholders Engagement on Container Indemnity Law

The NACCIMA National Secretariat in Lagos hosted a 2-day Stakeholders Engagement on Container Indemnity Law which started on Tuesday, 11th November and was concluded on Wednesday 12th November, 2025.

The National President of NACCIMA, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, mni, OON, FNSE, FAEng, FCIoD who is also the Chairman of the Nigerian Organized Private Sector (OPSN) was present and he addressed over 50 Stakeholders within the Maritime/Insurance Sector as the OPS takes the lead in the implemention of the 2025 NIIRA Law already assented to by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for ease of doing business in Nigeria.

He enjoined all Stakeholders to join hands to ensure the implementation of the law.
Participants at the meeting agreed to form an Implementation Committee which will involve representatives of all the Stakeholders Organisations to ensure a robust actualisation of the project.
The Stakeholders present included representatives from the following among others:
* Organised Private Sector
* Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy
* National Single Window Secretariat
* Nigeria Ports Authority
* National Insurance Commission
* Nigerian Shippers Council
* Council for the Nigerian Licensed Custom Agents
* National Association of Govt. Approved Freight Forwarders
* Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria
* National Council of Managing Directors of Customs Licensed Agents
* Association of Shipping Lines Agents
* Nigerian Insurance Association, etc.
