SPEECH BY THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF NACCIMA, DELE KELVIN OYE ESQ AT THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE 13TH GATEWAY INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR IN ABEOKUTA, 23RD APRIL 2024
Esteemed Attendees,
In my capacity as the National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), it is with profound respect and genuine warmth that I extend greetings to the distinguished guests, exhibitors, and attendees convened for the 13th Gateway International Trade Fair, meticulously orchestrated by the Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), with the esteemed support and collaborative efforts of the Ogun State Government.
It is with heartfelt felicitations that I acknowledge the Ogun State Government, under the visionary stewardship of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, alongside the leadership of OGUNCCIMA, headed by President Engr. Mike Akingbade, JP. The blossoming partnership between these entities is a testament to the success of ventures such as this esteemed Trade Fair, reflecting a cornerstone in our ongoing quest to spur economic vitality and affluence within the realms of Ogun State. I extend my commendations to the subsidiary Chambers of Commerce under the aegis of OGUNCCIMA for their synergistic endeavors in turning this commendable project into a tangible reality. Further appreciation is due to the organizing committee of this year’s Trade Fair, which serves as a catalyst for interaction between participants, exhibitors, and entities from both the public and private sectors, providing a fertile ground for the exhibition of products and the facilitation of business networking.
My particular laudations are reserved for the Executive Governor of Ogun State, H.E. Prince Dapo Abiodun, who has played a pivotal role in ensuring tranquility and a thriving business environment within the state. Your Excellency, your unyielding commitment to fortifying and reinvigorating key sectors is a critical driver of economic advancement and development, and for this, the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN) is profoundly grateful.
Esteemed ladies and gentlemen, NACCIMA celebrates with immense pride the consistency with which OGUNCCIMA has conducted its trade fairs, an endeavor that has evolved into a revered annual tradition of the Chamber. The theme of this year’s fair, “Achieving Economic Prosperity through Business Connection, Trade, and Investment,” could not be more pertinent, echoing the essential need for reinforced partnerships within the private sector to foster enduring and scalable economic progress.
It is evident that no single industry or commercial entity can flourish in solace. The essence and potency of collaboration are paramount. By cultivating robust business connections, enabling trade agreements, and championing strategic investments, we lay the groundwork for a future of resilient growth and communal wealth. The Ogun State Government’s unwavering commitment to nurturing these connections yields benefits not just for the individual businesses but also imparts substantial gains to the collective economic development of our communities and nation.
As a prominent voice within the OPSN, NACCIMA remains dedicated to advocating for and supporting an environment conducive to business that fosters profound and lasting relationships among entities within Nigeria.
