On December 4th, 2023, the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN) held its final quarterly meeting for the year at the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) head office in Ikeja, Lagos. This was the first meeting hosted by MAN since it assumed the Secretariat role earlier in the year.
Several key figures attended the meeting, including NACCIMA National President, Dele Kelvin Oye, Esq.; MAN’s President, Otunba Francis Meshioye; the NACCIMA DG, Sola Obadimu; NECA DG, Wale Smatt-Oyerinde; and Ifeanyi Oputa, DG, NASSI. The DG of NASME, Uke Ubiji, participated in the meeting virtually. Members of the Technical Committee of the OPSN were also present.
The meeting, chaired by the MAN President, covered a range of topics. These included updates on the activities of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, oversight activities of National Assembly Committees, and a proposed OPSN meeting with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In his speech, the National President of NACCIMA emphasized the need for the OPSN to harmonize their interests in a timely manner, examine how these interests affect them, and establish a unified OPSN stance.
