The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) hosted a delegation from the Hunan Haili Hi-Tech Group Co., Ltd. on Monday, 27th October 2025, at the NACCIMA Secretariat. The delegation was led by Mr. Dong Wei, General Manager of the company.
In his welcome remarks, Barr. Kola Awe, Charman of NACCIMA Export Trade Group welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for finding NACCIMA worthy of this strategic visit. He provided an overview of NACCIMA’s mandate as the umbrella body of the organised private sector in Nigeria, highlighting its role in policy advocacy, trade facilitation, industrial growth promotion, and sustainable agricultural development.
In response, Mr. Dong Wei, General Manager of Hunan Haili Hi-Tech Group, expressed gratitude to NACCIMA for the warm reception and outlined three major objectives of their visit was to:
1. Seek permission for the registration and distribution of their pesticide products in the Nigerian market.
2. Contribute to improving crop yields through the introduction of their advanced plant chemical technologies.
3. Expand their presence in Nigeria’s insecticide market, where they already have products distributed through a local partner.
He clarified that their existing local partner is not a sole distributor, as the company intends to broaden its partnerships and collaborate with more Nigerian firms to strengthen market reach and support local capacity.
During discussions on mutual benefits, Alhaji Yahaya Oladiran Idris, NVP inquired to know whether their insecticides and seed are purely Genetically Modified Organisms or organic, so that it won’t later affect the soil nutrients in Nigeria.
The Chinese delegation noted that their company is already engaged in supporting Nigeria through ongoing projects in herbal medicine, particularly involving moringa seeds and turmeric and that their products are Organic.
They also agreed to forward a comprehensive and dated catalogue of their products and technologies to NACCIMA for review and possible dissemination among interested Nigerian stakeholders.
Both sides acknowledged that Nigeria’s relatively low level of large-scale farming presents significant opportunities for agricultural expansion and modernization. The meeting concluded with a shared understanding that Hunan Haili Hi-Tech Group could achieve strong market penetration in Nigeria by focusing on the production and supply of organic and environmentally safe seeds and pesticides.
NACCIMA reaffirmed its readiness to facilitate further engagements between the company and relevant Nigerian stakeholders to advance sustainable agricultural growth, technology transfer, and private sector collaboration between both countries.
