The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), in collaboration with GIZ, commenced the Capacity Building on Business Management Skills aimed at strengthening the capacity of cross-border agrifood trade in Nigeria. The programme is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and tools required to build resilient, competitive, and market-driven businesses.
The four-day training programme was declared open yesterday by the National President of NACCIMA, Engr Jani Ibrahim mni, OON who spoke on the relevance of the training programme to the needs of cross border traders across the West African subregion. The training is scheduled to run from 9th to 12th February 2026 and brings together participants engaged in agrifood trade across borders. The capacity-building initiative focuses on key areas including business planning, financial management, market analysis, operational efficiency, human resource management, and regulatory compliance.
Through interactive sessions, practical case studies, and expert-led discussions, participants are exposed to contemporary business management practices aligned with regional and international trade frameworks, including the ECOWAS Agricultural Trade (EAT) initiative. The Director General of NACCIMA, Sola Obadimu emphasized the importance of sound business management skills in driving enterprise sustainability, job creation, and economic growth, reaffirming NACCIMA’s commitment, in partnership with GIZ, to supporting MSMEs through targeted capacity development interventions that enhance productivity, promote formalization, and improve access to markets across Nigeria and the ECOWAS sub-region.
