Agrofood Nigeria 2026 Press Conference

The Agrofood Nigeria 2026 Press Conference was held on Thursday, 12 February 2026, at the Radisson Blu, Ikeja-GRA, Lagos. The press conference was organised by Fairtrade Messe in cooperation with their local partners, Modion Communications as part of activities leading up to the Agrofood Nigeria 2026 Conference and Exhibition, scheduled to take place from 24–26 March 2026 at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos.

The Press Conference brought together members of the press, industry stakeholders, partners, and representatives from relevant public and private sector organisations (including NACCIMA, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), etc, to connect, collaborate and drive growth in the forthcoming Nigeria Agrofood event in March 2026.

The objective of the press conference was to officially announce the forthcoming exhibition, highlight its objectives, and sensitize stakeholders and the general public on the opportunities the event presents for the agribusiness and food processing sectors in Nigeria. Agrofood event focuses on providing solutions by creating an agric value chain such as: providing access, creating value and providing education.

The Director General of NACCIMA, Sola Obadimu gave a beief background on NACCIMA and assured the promoters, Fairtrade Messe, the press and the general public of NACCIMA’s partnership and support. Salami Musa, representing MAN also enjoined stakeholders to take advantage of the event to move their agri-business forward.

Freyja Detjen, representing Fairtrade Messe outlined the vision of Agrofood Nigeria 2026, stressing its role as a strategic platform for promoting agricultural production, food processing, packaging, and agro-technology, as well as facilitating local and international business linkages. She noted that the exhibition would attract exhibitors and participants from within and outside Nigeria, thereby fostering trade, investment, and knowledge exchange across the agro-food value chain.

Speakers at the press conference emphasized the importance of agriculture and food security to Nigeria’s economic growth and reaffirmed the relevance of the exhibition in supporting government initiatives aimed at boosting food production, processing, and export. The media was encouraged to partner with the organisers in ensuring wide publicity and stakeholder participation.
